CAPITALS BLOW IT AGAIN

Oh my God, I'm going to talk about hockey for the 2nd time in the entirety of my blog! The Washington Capitals, for the 2nd year in a row, scored the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference. Last year, they suffered an incredibly embarrassing first round defeat to the Montreal Canadiens, the 8th seed, after going up 3 games to 1. This year, they escaped a repeat of last year's embarrassment, defeating the New York Rangers in 5 games. But in the 2nd round, the Tampa Bay Lightning managed to not only defeat the Caps, but sweep them. This loss has more or less solidified the Capitals as being the Dallas Mavericks of the NHL. They do very well in the regular season, but once they get to the playoffs the real talent pushes them around. If the Capitals, and especially Alexander Ovechkin, want to avoid humiliation next year, they need to make some major changes, starting with their idiot coach.

The Tampa Bay Lightning now await the winner between the Flyers and Bruins, with the Bruins leading 3 games to none. Although in most situations, you'd assume the Bruins would win the series with only one more game to win, they are in the exact same situation they were in last year, facing the Flyers in the conference semi-finals and going up 3 games to none. The Bruins would go on to blow their 3-0 lead, only the 4th team in American professional sports to do so. If the Bruins manage to blow this 3-0 lead as well, they will become the punchline of Boston sports for many years to come, especially in a year that has not been kind to Boston sports with the Patriots suffering an embarrassing loss to the New York Jets in the playoffs, the Red Sox starting their season with their worst start in franchise history, and the Celtics currently getting demolished by the Miami Heat.
