Kobe Bryant will be the Player-Coach of the Lakers by Midseason; Jim Buss is Ruining the Lakers

Read this article: Woj Article on Jim Buss and Mike Brown
In the article, Adrian Wojnarowski accurately describes how the Mike Brown hire by the Lakers solidifies that Jim Buss is running the Lakers organization without input from Mike Kupchak, Kobe Bryant, or his sister Jeannie. Jim Buss is incompetent because if Woj is to be believed, Brown will not be fired under any circumstances and Bynum will never be traded for Dwight Howard.

If Jeannie were in charge, I'm pretty sure Rick Adelman or Jeff Van Gundy would be hired as coach now. Mike Brown is being touted around ESPN as being one of the winningest coaches of all time, but the only team he's ever coached had LeBron James on it. Likewise, it is a bit unfair to say Phil Jackson is as good as he is since he's had talent like Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal, and Kobe Bryant, but his results were consistent and he's won 11 championships as a coach. But Brown has only been to the Finals once where his team got swept by the Spurs. They got the best record in the NBA two years in a row, then failed to reach the Finals in either year, the first team a team has done so. Brown was then fired by the Cavaliers in hopes that firing the coach LeBron did not like would convince him to stay. It didn't work, and Brown has been working on ESPN for the last year.

If there's any one sign that Brown will not last long in Laker land, it's that Kobe has made no comment on Brown's hiring and every sports analyst in the Universe is calling this a horrible move by Jim Buss. I can guarantee that Mike Brown will not have his job past Christmas and Kobe will take over as player-coach.
