The Miami Dolphins Finally Hire a New Head Coach and It's Not Who You Expect

Going into the offseason, the big debate was whether Jeff Fisher, ex-coach of the Titans, would join the Rams or the Dolphins. In the end, Fisher made the "easy decision" to join the Rams, the team that defeated his Titans in Super Bowl XXXIV. Somewhat tongue-in-cheek, Fisher said the team would be removing the photo of "One Yard Short" from the team's facilities. The Dolphins claimed that Fisher was never a serious candidate, but that can only be taken at face value. After Fisher's hiring by the Rams, it seemed that the race would be between interim head coach Todd Bowles and Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy.

Boy, were we fooled. The identity of the Dolphin's new head coach after the break.

Joe Philbin, offensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers since 2007. As in, the offensive coordinator for the entirety of Aaron Rodgers as starting quarterback. This move is humongous because Packers backup QB Matt Flynn is set to become a hot commodity. If the Dolphins land Flynn as their new starting QB, in a system identical to Green Bay, the Dolphins have the possibility of becoming a very dangerous team... Or they could fail miserably, who knows?
