Tim Lincecum Refuses an Offer Most People Would Drool At

San Francisco Giants ace pitcher Tim Lincecum has reportedly rejected a 5 year, $100 million contract. Fellow starting pitcher Matt Cain (viewed as the #2 pitcher) will reportedly re-sign with the team for $20 million per year or less. The Lincecum deal is supposedly not about money, but about contract length, with some sources saying that Lincecum wants a 7or 8 year contract. Because of Lincecum's unique pitching style that has baffled opponents for years, many regard Lincecum as someone who could hold the position of ace pitcher well into his 30s.

Timmy, please re-sign. Without you, the team has nothing to look forward to. Matt Cain is great and all, but we won the World Series based on not allowing runs and great hitters against supposedly "unbeatable" pitchers Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee.
